It was difficult getting up this morning. Driving all day, not sleeping well, and knowing it was another 500+ mile day. After the "wonderful" office check out, we were back on I-70.
Driving, driving, driving and we keep sharing the road with Lewis and Clark. They seem to have laid the route out for us the last several summers.
We reach Missouri!
Stops for fuel and food and back on the road.
Wait! What was that? A yellow fire truck and ambulance? Never saw any of those vehicles in yellow before.
We stopped in Concordia, MO for lunch. We saw a sign for a church that read: "Plan Ahead. Leave Well." A lot to think about!
We reached Kansas at 1:39 p.m.
I forgot to tell Sir Garmin we didn't want to take toll roads and I-70 suddenly turned into a toll road. We took our ticket and took our chances! We stopped at a fuel island to let Chrissy out for a bit and to stretch our legs. Back to the toll-road. I'm trying to figure out how many axles we have and how far we're traveling on this road. Much to my relief it isn't far. Toll - $4.75.
More fuel and looking for our campground. In the past we'd stayed at a nice campground in Salinas and rode out a tornado there. Decided to go back there again. Just one problem. They have closed! We'd passed a KOA a few miles earlier, so back in the direction we'd just come. Turned out to be a good choice! Nice location and they delivered our pizza we ordered right to our door.
We're turning in early!
There's something better down the road!
Jenny :)
